Melanie’s Law
Melanie’s Law, passed in late 2005, was enacted to enhance penalties and administrative sanctions for DUI offenders in Massachusetts. The following subsections outline those changes.
- Employing or allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle
- When the state can take away your vehicle
- The ignition interlock device
- Breathalyzer refusal or failure
- If your drunk driving kills someone
- Child endangerment while DUI
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol with a suspended license
